OEM front fender liners are felted material, not plastic — durability depends heavily on climate/road salt: FAW X80 front fenders use a felted (fabric-like) OEM liner material rather than plastic. Durability varies sharply by region: in high-salt-exposure regions (e.g., the Urals, where "Ilyetsk salt" is used on roads), the felted liners become waterlogged and delaminate within just 3–5 years of regular driving. In milder climates (Moscow, central Russia), the same OEM liners have lasted 6–7 years on 2019-model-year cars.
