Hood edge molding/trim — part numbers and availability

Tags: #part-number

The hood edge molding/trim (капота молдинг) — the black plastic strip that runs along the hood's front edge — has genuine FAW Besturn X80 part number 5CA050750A09 ¹². It can be damaged or torn off in driving (e.g. by insect impact at high speed) ³. Available from kitzapchasti.ru and other online parts suppliers; installation is straightforward ⁴.

A later report lists two variants of the (chrome/silver) trim piece with different part numbers — confirm which is needed before ordering: - 5CA050750A09 — silver, typically special-order ⁵. - 5CA05075019 — silver, available in stock ⁶⁷.

Detachment and reattachment (weak factory fasteners): the hood molding — including the piece mounted between the headlights — is prone to detaching due to weak factory fasteners/mounting brackets. Reattachment options, from least to most durable: (1) adhesive sealant (герметик) — least durable; (2) two-component epoxy glue combined with screw reinforcement; (3) superglue + baking-soda paste, spot-welded with a soldering iron to secure staple hooks — options (2) and (3) hold up better than plain sealant ^8910111213.

Pre-facelift part number confirmed, color variants: for the pre-facelift X80 the hood molding part number is confirmed as 5CA050750A09. Aftermarket replacements with a red accent stripe are available on AliExpress and Ozon; the factory-original plain black version is also available ^13141516.

Hood molding — part number 5CA05075019 (Autocraft, availability gap): FAW Besturn X80 hood molding (молдинг капота), part number 5CA05075019, available from Autocraft (autocraft-kzn.ru). As of December 2025, the part was temporarily unavailable from the original supplier; a community member looking to purchase it contacted the shop directly by phone ¹⁷¹⁸¹⁹.

Pre-restyling hood molding — additional suppliers (2013–2016 models): for pre-restyling FAW X80 (2013–2016), the same part number 5CA05075019 is also available from kitzapchasti.ru and kitparts.ru, priced from 1,963 RUB and up (May 2024 pricing). Can be ordered online, but the community recommends verifying with a reputable supplier before full payment ²⁰²¹.

Double-sided tape as a quick temporary fix (reinforcing report): an earlier report on the same detachment issue (pre-facelift model, 2013–2018, part 5CA05075019) confirms double-sided automotive tape as a viable temporary re-attachment method when the molding comes loose, ahead of ordering a replacement part (₽1,963+, RU market, as of March 2024, available from Kitzap, Farpost, and other suppliers) — consistent with the fuller fastener options documented above ^22232425.
