Damaged plastic bumpers (material: PP/ABS/PC/PUR) can be repaired without full replacement. Method: (1) degrease and clean the damage area; (2) cut a V-shaped groove along the crack; (3) use a hot-air tool (строительный фен, heat gun) with a flat electrode or a plastic rod matching the bumper's material; (4) weld both sides of the crack; (5) sand/grind the repair smooth; (6) repaint if needed. Correct material identification is required first — check the existing bumper's material marking. This method was successfully demonstrated on a KIA Rio PP bumper that lasted 7+ years afterward. Multiple mounting-point ("ushi"/lugs) breaks can also be repaired this way ¹²³⁴⁵.
