Radiator grille — pricing and fitment

Tags: #price · #restyle · #cross-compatibility

Restyle (facelift) grille pricing: an X80 restyle radiator grille costs approximately 12,000 RUB (RU market, January 2026) ¹.

X40 grille — not a direct fit: the FAW X40's grille is cheaper (~6,000 RUB, RU market, January 2026), but it is not a direct fit on the X80 — the upper trim and bumper mounting points differ, risking fitment problems if substituted ²³⁴.

Pre-restyle grille — cheaper on the used market: a pre-restyle grille is much cheaper when sourced from Avito classifieds (used-parts listings) than buying new. It's physically similar in appearance to the restyle grille but structurally incompatible with restyle-model mounting points ²³⁴.

Visual differences between generations (how to tell them apart): (1) the restyle grille is more angular/blocky with a wider lower section due to the new bumper design, while the pre-restyle grille is narrower with a softer curve; (2) the restyle grille has 3–4 thick horizontal chrome bars versus a finer mesh/different chrome pattern on pre-restyle; (3) the restyle grille has a thicker chrome frame that connects to the headlight line as one unified design. Many Avito sellers incorrectly list X40 grilles under X80 part numbers — a side-by-side photo comparison shows the mislabeled X40 grille is visibly narrower than the genuine X80 restyle grille ^{56789101112131415}. ⚠️ Conflict: buyers cannot rely on marketplace part-number labels alone — physical fitment must be verified before purchase, since sellers regularly confuse X40 and X80 grilles.

Changan Finix 35 grille — cross-model adaptation: a Changan Finix 35 grille can be adapted to fit the FAW Besturn X80 by trimming it to fit the X80 frame — the Finix grille naturally shares the same bend shape as the X80 frame from fender to fender. Custom welding may be required to mount it to the X80 frame ^1617181920.

Radiator grille badge part numbers by facelift: the front radiator grille badge (with FAW lettering) has different part numbers by model year: pre-facelift (dorest) = 5CA051731; facelift (rest) = 5GA05173102. Owners report needing to replace it when cracked by road debris ²¹²². A Kitz Zapchasti listing for the front FAW Besturn X80 emblem, 5CA051731, was also linked in reply to a question about the front badge ²³.
