Wheel-arch liner clips — fragility and sourcing

Fragility warning: the plastic clips and mounting brackets used for the X80's wheel-arch liner (podkrylok) are fragile and prone to breaking during removal. If you plan to remove a wheel-arch liner for any maintenance, buy replacement clips beforehand — original clips frequently break during removal, and you don't want to be stuck without spares mid-job. The clips are square-shaped plastic pieces; separately, the mounting tabs/ears ("проушины") on the moldings themselves also commonly break off — one owner found the liner comes away in your hands with the clips still lodged in the wheel arch, mounting hardware and all ¹²³.

Removal technique matters: the X80's arch clips release by being pushed from the inside — if you instead pull/pry from the outside, they're likely to break. The square-type clip specifically is described as durable under normal load (no stress in that direction) but the mounting ears in the moldings are the weak point ²³.

Sourcing replacement clips: the clips are Mazda-branded parts, available at Ozon and at car-parts markets/marketplaces generally ⁴⁵. Same fragility issue on rear fender guard clips: consistent with the warnings above, the fastening clips (referred to as "pistons"/пистоны) used on the plastic rear fender guards (подкрылники) are also fragile and prone to breaking during removal. Take extra care during installation to avoid damaging the plastic clips when inserting them back into their mounting points ⁸⁹¹⁰¹¹.

Rear liner panels themselves — not available new: separate from the mounting clips, the rear plastic wheel-arch liner panels (подкрылники) themselves are not available new from suppliers at all — only used/salvage parts are on the market. This is a known supply gap: listings sometimes appear online for new units, but they turn out not to actually be in stock when contacted ¹²¹³¹⁴.
