Service mode (pre-facelift only). To replace wiper blades on pre-facelift X80s, the wipers must be parked mid-stroke so they clear the hood/cowl edge: turn off ignition while holding the wiper stalk pulled upward to enter service mode; the wipers stop mid-stroke ¹²³. To return to normal operation, simply turn the ignition back on ⁴. This mirrors the service-mode procedure used on other FAW models ("chunga-changa") and is expected to work the same way on most cars ¹.

Facelift (restyled, 2020+) models have no service mode — the wiper stalk behavior differs, and blades can be changed with the wipers simply switched off, no special procedure needed ⁵.

Blade sizes. Factory (OEM) sizes: 600mm driver side + 400mm passenger side in front, 350mm rear ⁶⁵. Larger aftermarket sizes fit reasonably well: 650mm + 430mm or 650mm + 450mm; with the 450mm passenger blade, some owners report it slightly touching the bottom windshield trim at full stroke on one side, though not a functional problem ⁷⁸.
