FAW X80 Mazda 6 platform — parts compatibility

Tags: #mazda-6-compat · #part-number · #buying-guide

The FAW X80 shares Mazda 6 platform architecture across several systems — suspension (control arms, bearing hubs), transmission fluids, and steering specifications ¹. Mazda part cross-references are increasingly appearing in X80 parts catalogs. Practical implication: sourcing Mazda 6 parts is often more reliable than relying on X80-specific catalogs ².

X80 models from 2017 onwards generally have excellent parts availability at moderate pricing, and many components cross-compatible with Ford and Mazda vehicles provide practical alternatives to OEM FAW parts — one owner notes that new-car (post-2017) parts are actually more expensive and harder to find than parts for the earlier/pre-facelift model, which has better availability ³⁴⁵⁶. One long-term owner confirms no problems sourcing Mazda 6 (pre-2006) parts specifically: consumables (filters, brake pads, timing belt) and wear items (bearings, sway-bar bushings, brake discs) were all sourced from non-Chinese Mazda 6 (pre-2006) OEM suppliers with zero compatibility failures — for example, a full bearing/bushing/disc replacement at 105,000 km cost about 60,000 RUB (July 2025, RU market) using this sourcing approach ⁷.
