X80 market rarity and smart-key scarcity

Market rarity: The FAW X80 is considered rare in the Chinese domestic market; early production runs were limited ¹². The FAW Oley, a similar model from the same limited-edition production runs, is extremely difficult to source parts for in China ³⁴. Pre-facelift X80 models feature Chinese-assembly-specific components not found on later versions.

Smart key scarcity: Complete replacement smart keys for the X80 are extremely rare on the market — reportedly only one supplier in Siberia has occasional stock. Replacement physical key blanks and key heads have some parts articles available, but complete assembled keys remain scarce; Chinese suppliers have no such keys in their catalogs at all ⁵⁶.

Finding rare trim parts at Avito salvage yards: For a small missing trim part, one member suggests asking Avito salvage yards (dismantlers, "razbory" / разборы) that break donor cars: describe what you need and ask the seller whether they have it, even if it is not in the search results. He found a passenger-side dashboard ventilation part this way; knowing the OEM part number makes the search easier ⁷⁸.
