False brake-fluid-low warning light
Tags: #brake-fluid · #warning-light · #corrosion
Symptom: the dashboard shows a low-brake-fluid warning message even though the fluid reservoir is visually at a normal level 1. First diagnostic steps suggested: (1) check whether the float inside the fluid reservoir is mechanically stuck (not moving freely with the actual fluid level, so it reports incorrectly); (2) check the sensor's electrical contacts for corrosion/oxide buildup, which can cause a false low-level signal even with the float working correctly. Suggested fix for the contact-corrosion case: clean the contacts with a soda solution to restore correct operation 2. As with other float/level-sensor cards in this knowledge base (compare the fuel-level-sensor card), a warning tied to a float mechanism should prompt checking both the mechanical float movement and the electrical contact quality before assuming a fluid-level problem or a failed sensor requiring replacement.
