Central locking staged unlock (normal)

Tags: #key-fob · #normal-behavior

Behavior: pressing the key-fob unlock button on the FAW Besturn X80 uses a staged, anti-theft unlock sequence: the first press unlocks only the driver's door; two subsequent presses are needed to unlock the remaining doors.

Keyless access is different: unlocking via the keyless entry bezel button (on the door handle) unlocks all doors simultaneously, unlike the fob's staged behavior.

This is by design, not a malfunction: the staged fob-unlock sequence is an intentional security/anti-theft feature — some owners initially mistake this for a fault when they expect all doors to unlock on the first press, but it's working as intended ¹²³.

Disabling "barrel mode" (automatic door unlock) — diagnostic tool method: on restyle X80 models, it's possible to disable the automatic door-unlock behavior (referred to as "barrel"/"barsetchnyy" mode) using diagnostic equipment. Method: an X431 scanner running DiagZone software; a user successfully performed the modification this way. An alternative tool: Mucar BT200 also supports DiagZone software and can activate/deactivate service functions and control actuators for testing ⁴⁵⁶⁷⁸⁹.
