Left-side cigarette lighter: powered from the 15A fuse labeled "sigar" in the fuse block 1. Right-side power outlet: fuse location was not clearly labeled/identified in the small fuse block to the left of the steering wheel at the time of the 1 report — but a separate, earlier thread resolves the underlying question: the cigarette lighter circuit and the 12V power outlet (USB/socket) sit on separate fuses in the X80. Shorting the lighter does not blow the 12V outlet fuse, and vice versa — check each circuit's fuse independently if only one is non-functional. Fuse identification/position may still differ between pre-facelift and facelift variants, so match the fuse-box diagram to your specific car 2345.

Repairing a 12V/USB socket that has fallen into the console. If the 12V socket (with USB port) falls or breaks loose inside the dash console: (1) carefully remove/unscrew the gear-shift knob; (2) use a plastic pry tool to gently lift the console from the edge — avoid yanking, which can snap the handbrake-button wire; (3) disconnect the handbrake button's electrical connector; (4) the socket is now accessible from below the console for reinsertion or repair 678.

Blowout prevention with an indicator fuse. If the cigarette-lighter fuse blows repeatedly after heavy loads (e.g. charging high-current devices via the 12V accessory socket), one practical upgrade is fuses with a built-in blown-fuse indicator, so a repeat blow is spotted at a glance. One owner made this upgrade three years prior for roughly 300 RUB total (RU market, May 2026). Fuse location: the fuse box under the driver-side dashboard 910.

Circuit rating: 20A. The cigarette-lighter circuit breaker/fuse is rated at 20A, located in the under-dash fuse panel on the driver's side. Overload typically happens when charging unusually high-current devices through the 12V port — e.g. a child's electric scooter/ride-on toy was the specific overload case reported 1011.

Trunk (boot) outlet shares a 15A fuse with the salon/cabin outlet — a different circuit from the cigarette lighter. On pre-restyle X80s the trunk power outlet is fed by a 15A fuse in the main fusebox, and that same fuse also feeds the salon/cabin outlet — so if a device plugged into the trunk outlet draws too much current, both outlets lose power together. The trunk outlet is only live with the ignition ON, unlike the battery-fed circuits. This 15A trunk/salon fuse is a separate circuit from the 20A cigarette-lighter fuse documented above. Owners who wire up trailer adapters or coordination boxes through this outlet commonly overload the 15A circuit; a separate, higher-amperage fuse/circuit may be needed for trailer use rather than relying on the shared trunk/salon outlet 1213141516171819.
