Disabling automatic door locking

The X80's automatic door-lock feature (doors lock automatically once the car starts driving) can be disabled, but not as a DIY setting — it requires a dealer visit where the car's launcher/configuration is reprogrammed with diagnostic equipment ¹².

"Child-lock" framing of the same feature — no confirmed X80 procedure yet. A related question, referring to this same auto-lock feature informally as "child mode" (детский режим): whether it can be disabled. One lead (unconfirmed for the X80): a Drive2.ru forum article describing a menu/PCM-based procedure for the related FAW B50 model, which might translate to the X80 given shared platform components, but this hasn't been verified — treat it as a lead to investigate, not a confirmed fix ³. Community consensus leans toward this being adjustable only via OBD/dealer diagnostic software or a physical switch rather than a driver-accessible menu setting, consistent with the dealer-reprogram requirement already documented above, but no owner in this thread had actually completed the procedure on an X80 ⁴³.

Auto-unlock-while-moving (the reverse setting, also configurable). Doors can also be configured to unlock automatically once the vehicle starts moving — the opposite of the auto-lock-while-driving behavior documented above. Enabling it requires a diagnostic scanner capable of writing this parameter; a plain ELM327-based reader is not sufficient. A DiagZone Pro scanner paired with a Macar BT200 interface was reported to work. In practice this configuration change is only available through an official dealership or a specialist shop with a compatible scanner ⁵⁶.
