No common chassis ground in X80 wiring
Tags: #wiring
The FAW X80's electrical system does not use a single common chassis/body ground point for all circuits, unlike many vehicles where accessories can simply be grounded to any convenient metal point on the body. Both the positive (+) and negative (-) power lines must be run independently, all the way, to each electrical component. This matters most in practice for anyone installing LEDs or other accessories: you cannot rely on grounding to a single nearby chassis point the way you might on other cars — a complete positive and negative circuit has to be wired to each accessory individually, or it may not work reliably or at all 1.
