Wiring diagram (EWD) fuses and relays

The factory electrical wiring diagram (EWD, "electrical wiring diagram" pages 1101-1128, files Z001-Z027) shared in the group prints each fuse with an "Si" id, a name and a rating. The text extracted from these PDFs is layout-scrambled, so the pairings below are the ones where a label and rating sit together; on the engine pages (1101-1103, 1105) the pairing of ratings with circuits is not reliable and the fuse box in the car (or the fuse and relay map) must be used to confirm a position ¹²³⁴.

Main and ignition feeds (repeated on every page). Si13 "Main Fuse" 125 A (battery feed); Si71 "Generator" 175 A; Si72 "Main Fuse" 175 A (the 1.8TD pages show both 175 A generator fuses); Si2 "IG KEY2" 40 A; Si35 "IG KEY1" 30 A; Si62 "Engine IG1" 5 A; Si26 "Engine B+" 10 A; Si1 "BNT" 40 A; Si59 "Meter" 5 A. The ignition switch (connector I34) is drawn with the positions (OFF), (ACC), (IG1), (IG2), (ST), (SL), (B1), (B2); the relay block I25/I26 carries IGN1 Relay 1, IGN2 Relay 2 and the ACC supply, with the ACC relay on connector B2 and IGN1/IGN2 on A2/A4 and A6/A3 (order as printed) ⁵⁶⁷. Engine tags on the diagrams are 2.0L, 1.8T and 1.8TD ⁶.

Circuit fuses read from page 1115 (Z015). Si9 "Medium Speed Fan" 40 A; Si11 "High Speed Fan" 30 A (the 1.8T page shows a 50 A "PWM Fan"); Si25 "Compressor" 10 A; Si36 "Fuel Pump" 20 A; Si37 "ECU2" 5 A; Si44 "Oxygen Sensor" 15 A; Si45 "Ignition Coil" 15 A; Si46 30 A (printed beside the oxygen-sensor and ignition-coil fuses); Si47 "Valve Body" 20 A; Si48 "ECU1" 5 A; Si52 "Audio" 25 A; Si53 "TCU" 15 A; Si55 5 A (shift valve, outer rear-view mirror, ignition-lock solenoid); Si56 "Cigarette Lighter" 15 A; Si57 "ABS/ESP" 5 A; Si58 "PKE/EPB" 5 A; Si60 "Audio/PKE" 5 A; Si61 "Backup Power Source" 15 A; Si63 "Airbag" 10 A; Si64 "Back-up Light" 10 A (relay R19); Si70 "Starter (SL)" 5 A (SL and automatic-gearbox starter circuit on the 2.0L) ⁸. Page 1119 adds the keyless-entry fuses Si27 "PKE2 (PK)" 25 A, Si42 "PKE1 (PK)" 10 A and Si66 "BCM/PKE" 5 A ⁹; pages 1120-1121 repeat Si56, Si59 and Si61 ⁷¹⁰; page 1122 shows Si63 "Airbag" 10 A ¹¹. The ratings match the cabin and under-hood diagram (fuel pump 20 A, TCU 15 A, airbag 10 A, audio 25 A, ignition coil 15 A) ¹².

Relays. R2 "Main Relay" (contacts 87/30); R10 "Starter Relay" and R6 "Starter Additional Relay" drive the starter; R17 "Fuel Pump Relay"; R1 "A/C Compressor Relay"; R19 back-up light relay; on the 2.0L page medium-speed and high-speed fan relays; on the 1.8T page R10, R17, R20 and R21 sit beside the electric water pump, PWM fan, fuel pump and compressor relays; the 1.8TD page lists R2, R10 and R17-R21 with a supercharger label ¹²³⁸. ECU pin references: fuel pump relay R17 - ECU(2.0L) 70#, ECU(1.8T) 41#, ECU(1.8TD) C_D1# and C_Q3#; main relay R2 - ECU(2.0L) 45#, 44#, 63#, 14#, ECU(1.8T) 5#, ECU(1.8TD) C_F1#; starter - ECU(1.8TD) C_B2#, C_G3#, C_H4#, ECU(1.8T) 22#, 10#, 58#, 13#, ECU(2.0L) 77#, 56#, 52#, plus pin 2# of the select-position switch (automatic) or neutral switch (manual gearbox) ⁸. Front seat heater relays are C30 (left) and C31 (right) with terminals 30, 85, 86, 87 ¹³.

Per-page notes. Page 1101 (2.0L ECU) shows a 125 A main fuse (Si13), IG KEY2 40 A, IG KEY1 30 A and relays R2, R10, R12, R16, R17 ¹. Page 1102 (1.8T) adds the electric water pump, PWM fan, fuel pump and compressor relays and the BCM, A/C control unit, PKE controller, gateway and generator control units ². Page 1103 (1.8TD) adds the electric vacuum pump, intake OCV, DCDC converter and ESP/start-stop units ³. Page 1105 (automatic gearbox, "3rd-generation transmission") shows the back-up light relay, battery sensor, combination meter, PKE controller and gateway ⁴. Page 1106 (TPMS) lists a 5 A meter fuse beside the main and IG KEY fuses ¹⁴.
