Fog light installation methods

Installing fog lights without full bumper removal (DIY shortcut): carefully cut rectangular openings in the bottom bumper panel, insert the fog light assemblies, and secure the cutout pieces back in place with self-tapping screws. Wiring is routed through the existing bumper openings. This avoids unnecessary A-pillar or fender disassembly ¹².

BI-LED fog light module retrofit (Lada Vesta-compatible): BI-LED fog light modules compatible with the Lada Vesta have been successfully installed on the pre-facelift X80. The modules give even lighting with good brightness, and owners report stable operation after 1+ year with no degradation. Installation requires removing the original fog light housing; the modules are available through the Ozon marketplace ^{345678910111213141516171819}.

Fog lamp installation with factory lever control (facelift vs pre-facelift wiring differs): a complete fog lamp installation guide is available on Drive2 (Part 1): https://www.drive2.ru/l/582439072975448486/. The factory setup uses a lever control mounted below the steering wheel. Pre-facelift base-trim models may lack the wiring/connectors entirely; facelift models require a different connector configuration than pre-facelift models — check which generation's harness is present before ordering parts ^2021222324.

Fog light control button — restyle variant: some restyle X80 models (2018+) have a non-factory fog light control button installed by previous owners. On restyle models with genuine fog lights that activate together with the parking lights, this custom button can provide independent on/off control of the fog light separate from the parking lights ^25262728.

Replacing the fog light bulb without removing the bumper: access to the fog light bulb on a restyle X80 (if fog lights were installed by a previous owner) is possible through the air-filter area without fully removing the bumper. The space is tight but sufficient to manipulate the tool/bulb. Bumper removal isn't required, though it may make the job easier ^29303132.

Installing fog lights into pre-existing bumper slots (no modification needed, 2017–2021): on trims that lack factory fog lights, the front bumper already has rectangular slots below the headlights ready to accept them — no cutting or permanent modification is required, unlike the cut-opening method described above. Compatible fog light sets for the 2017–2021 X80 are available on both AliExpress and Ozon ^3334353637.
