Bulb replacement (pre-facelift X80): 1. Unclip the plastic frame around the fog lamp using a plastic spoon/lever tool. 2. Unscrew 3 bolts. 3. Pull the lamp unit out toward you. 4. Replace the bulb.

Full fog light installation (2019 Kaliningrad-assembled X80, no factory harness). This particular 2019 unit came from the factory with the relay and fuse pre-installed for fog lights, but no wiring harness — indicating the car is pre-wired at the infrastructure level for an optional fog-light upgrade even when the harness/lamps themselves aren't fitted.³⁴

Installation procedure followed by the owner: purchased fog-light frames/housings and a switch button from AliExpress, then connected them to the existing pre-installed relay/fuse infrastructure. Labor cost for the installation: 5,000 RUB (RU market, April 2024).³⁴

Caveat — dashboard indicator. After installation, the fog-light telltale/indicator light on the instrument panel was not functional on this particular install.³⁴⁵⁶ By contrast, another community member with a similarly aftermarket-installed setup reports their panel indicator does work⁷ — so indicator functionality may depend on the specific installation method or model-year variant, and is not guaranteed either way.

If your car has NO factory fog-light wiring at all — full custom-wiring DIY approach (2021 facelift, 2026-08 report). Unlike the pre-wired 2019 unit above, this owner (a 2021/facelift car) had no pre-existing relay/fuse/harness infrastructure for fog lights and had to wire everything from scratch. Parts used: - LED bulbs: H8/H10/H11/HB4 CANBUS, yellow-white, 2000 Lm, sold as a 2-piece set ("2Pcs 2000Lm CANBUS H8 LED Yellow White HB4 H10 H11 Led Fog Lights H16JP LED Bulb Car Driving Lamp for Toyota Skoda Ford Lada") — 1,529 RUB (2026-08-28, RU market, AliExpress, 30% discount applied). - Fog lamp assembly/frame: "For FAW Besturn X80 2017 2018 2019 2020 2021 Car Front Bumper Fog Lamp Light Frame Cover Halogen Bulbs Auto Fog Lights Assembly", specific to the X80 2017–2021, includes blanking caps/covers to replace (needed since the bumper originally had halogen-bulb blanks) — 4,969 RUB (2026-08-28, RU market, AliExpress, 50% discount applied). - Switch: a plain button switch, DIY-wired to the fuse block, rather than sourcing/fitting the factory steering-column stalk switch — the owner explicitly chose not to hunt for the original 2021-model switch and instead ran their own wiring and button.

Procedure notes from the thread: the owner built their own wiring harness/loom ("коса" — cable run) from the fog lights to the fuse block, then routed wiring from the fuse block into the cabin to the button. The bumper did not need to be removed to complete this installation ("получилось без скидывания" — done without taking it off). The original bumper's bulb blanks/caps do need to be swapped for the fog-lamp-specific frame's caps.

Plug-and-play alternative (same market, same date). A complete kit is also available pre-bundled — "Передний бампер, противотуманная фара, рамка, крышка галогенных ламп, жгут проводов с переключателем for FAW Besturn X80 2017-2021" (bumper trim/frame + halogen-bulb caps + wiring loom + switch, all included) — 7,309 RUB (2026-08-28, RU market, AliExpress, 50% discount applied). Per a community member who did the custom build, this bundled kit costs more than buying the LED bulbs, fog-lamp frame, and switch separately — buying components individually works out cheaper.^{891011121314151617181920212223}
