Fuse type. The X80's electrical panel uses mini-type fuses throughout ¹²³.

Layout differs completely between generations. Pre-facelift and facelift X80 models have completely different fuse-box schematics and circuit layouts — generic schematics found online often don't match either variant exactly. The facelift fuse box has multiple power distribution blocks for the cabin, passenger side, and rear-passenger side circuits, with different amperage ratings across them. Reference diagrams circulate from Drive2.ru, but even those may not precisely match an individual vehicle's configuration — treat any diagram as a starting point, not gospel, and verify against the physical fuse-box labeling ⁴⁵⁶⁷⁸.

Front fog-light fuse. Front fog lights (sometimes labeled as DRL on the fuse diagram) are protected by a 10A fuse in the engine-bay fuse box. Exact fuse location varies by year/model — cross-check against your fuse-box diagram or ask the community for your specific variant rather than assuming a universal slot number ^{91011 12131415}.

Why removing different fuses has different effects. The fuse block contains multiple protective fuses feeding different circuits. Some circuits are powered before reaching their protective fuse ("preload" circuits), while others are powered only after the fuse — this is why pulling one fuse may kill only part of a system while pulling a main/master fuse kills all electrical power. Do not use fuse removal as a way to shut the vehicle down ¹⁶¹⁷.

This directly confirms the airbag circuit's rating (10A, cabin block) — relevant when troubleshooting an airbag warning light (see that card) — and shows several distinct 30A-rated circuits under the hood (power windows, central locking, sunroof, and engine-control-module power), any of which could be the "30A fuse under the hood" referenced in generic troubleshooting reports elsewhere in this section; always confirm the exact position against this diagram or the physical labeling rather than assuming which 30A fuse is meant.
