Part numbers: 5GA037973 vs 5BA037973. The X80FC2 parts catalog lists the TPMS sensor as part code 5GA037973 in the wheel-and-tyre group 3700A01X80F; the same group lists tyres 215/60R17 96V (Hankook, FQ9062016717) and 185/70R17 (Wanli, FQ9062017687). The catalog gives no frequency, battery or price ¹. One member fitted 5BA037973 bought on Ozon and reports it working through a winter, about a year on. A member says 5BA037973 is for the pre-restyle X80 and the X40 and that the X80 sensor starts with 5GA, whereas one supplier told another owner that 5BA037973 is the restyle number; the two statements conflict. A set of 4 sensors listed on AliExpress as 5GA037973C for FAW Bestune 2018-2024 (T77) was priced ~7,459 RUB (RU market, Nov 2025) ²³⁴⁵⁶.

A new sensor must be programmed. A replacement 5GA037973 has to be programmed after fitting: either the old sensor's ID is read and cloned into the new one, or the ID is read from the car over OBD and written into the sensor ⁷⁸. A Launch TPMS LTR-03 tool (433 + 315 MHz) was listed for this in Nov 2025 ⁹.

New sensor not accepted / dead after a battery swap. One owner's new 5GA037973 was not accepted by the car and the supplier said it belongs to a different system; the workaround described is to leave the old battery in place with its tabs cut and fit a new cell outside ¹⁰¹¹. In another case a sensor did not work after a battery swap; the replies blamed wrong polarity or failing to disconnect the old cell, and the sensor eventually proved dead ¹²¹³.

Reading and cloning IDs. One owner pulled the sensor IDs from the ECU via OBD-II with an Autel scanner; another says Diagzone Pro reads the IDs virtually from the ECU. A member states a sensor ID cannot be cloned onto a second wheel set because the sensors are not programmable ¹⁴¹⁵¹⁶.

Aftermarket FS43X0L5 and the OEM label. Aftermarket sensors for the X80 are sold as FS43X0L5; one owner bought an Autel-branded 4-pack, other options mentioned are a metal-bodied 4-pack and an NFC-type set. The OEM sensor label reads FS43X0L5-181218-050549BD with a DataMatrix code ^17181920.
