AKPP selector stuck locked — end-stop spring-clip fix

The AKPP (automatic transmission) gear selector can become mechanically locked even when the brake pedal is pressed/released correctly — a different failure mode from the electronic P081929 shift-correction issue documented elsewhere in this section. Cause: the spring clips inside the selector's end-stop mechanism (концевик — the shift-lock solenoid/switch assembly) bend out of shape over time, preventing the lock from releasing properly. Fix: remove the AKPP shifter frame/surround trim, reach in by hand to the left side of the selector, unclip the end-stop mechanism, and manually re-bend the spring clips back into their correct shape. This solution — found on Mazda forums, given the X80's Mazda-derived drivetrain lineage — permanently resolves the selector-lock issue without needing a service-center visit 1 2345.

Shifter does not leave P on the first press of the brake pedal (Oct 2026). On an automatic (АКПП) the selector did not release from park on the first brake press; it began the day after the right rear bulb was replaced, and the car works normally again now 678. Victor 🇷🇺 suspects the transmission reads either the brake-pedal switch or the circuit of the centre (third) stop light, and recommends checking them; homemade LED stop-light bulbs often cause trouble where the car had incandescent bulbs 9.
