Failure and mileage. The crankshaft vibration damper (шкив/демпфер коленвала) can fail at relatively low mileage — one reported case failed at just 70,000 km¹²³. The failure mode described is the internal wave-damper element (волной) deteriorating and cracking apart ("демфер разбился")³.

Sourcing difficulty. This part is reported as hard to source, with no significant aftermarket availability — one member's blunt reaction to the failure was that this specific part is "a shame, there's basically nothing available anywhere" ("По данной зч печалька, толком нигде нет")⁴.

Cross-manufacturer alternative. Potential cross-compatible replacement sources suggested: the Ford Duratec HE (the same engine family used in the X80) or Mazda 6 (GG/GH generation), since both use the same/a very similar engine variant — described as "однотипные двс" (same-type engines)⁵.

A separate community (FAW BESTURN X80 group) gives the crankshaft pulley (шкив коленвала) part number for the FAW Besturn X80 2013+: 100504537K. As of that report, this part was listed as discontinued/out of stock at the used-parts retailer checked (iZAP24, Yekaterinburg) — consistent with the sourcing difficulty already documented on this card for crankshaft-damper-related components¹¹.
