Some X80 owners report fuel pump failures characterized by random, intermittent pressure drops that are difficult to catch with a standard pressure gauge because the pump operates normally most of the time. Diagnostic steps: (1) check the fuel-pump relay under the rear seat, which can stick; (2) inspect electrical connections under the rear seat for corrosion or loose wires; (3) manually verify the pump itself is functional by removing the fuel line and confirming spray/flow with ignition-only (no cranking) — if it sprays, the pump is fine and the fault is upstream in the wiring/relay.
