Fuel tank drain procedure (siphon method)
Method. There's no dedicated drain valve/plug documented for the X80 fuel tank — the community's approach is the same as on any car: siphon through the filler-neck valve. Use a thin hose that fits freely into the fuel-cap valve opening; the hose must be thin enough to pass through without forcing it.12
Starting the siphon. Getting flow started requires a strong, deliberate inhalation/suction on the hose to pull fuel up and over — one owner joked it takes a breath strong enough "to fill both lungs" before the siphon catches, and another confirmed the hose method alone (without a strong draw) didn't work for them.34
Caution. This is a manual-suction siphon method (not a pump), so there's a real risk of drawing fuel into your mouth — not recommended for casual/inexperienced use. Work with fuel doors closed/contained to avoid spills.1234
