Manual transmission right-side seal replacement
Tags: #manual-transmission · #seal
Why it's hard. Right-side manual transmission (МКПП) seal replacement is described by an experienced owner as among the most difficult maintenance tasks on the X80. The engine bay, as engineered by the Chinese (Besturn)/Japanese-derived platform, has minimal clearance, and the drive shafts are packed tightly together, making them difficult to remove.1
Procedure requirement. Removing the drive shaft is necessary to access the seal — there's no shortcut that avoids this step.1
Tooling and experience level. Special tools and patience are required. The left side is reportedly more accessible than the right by comparison. The community recommendation is to reserve this job for experienced mechanics rather than attempting it as a first-time DIY repair.1
Seal part: Corteco 19016578B. Corteco 19016578B is an oil seal for the manual gearbox (МКПП), listed as TC 35x58x8/14.8 ACM; a member showed the box. For OEM versus budget seals see AKPP seal and pan-gasket leaks2.
