Thermostat — part number and replacement cost

Ford cross-compatible thermostat. Mazda/Ford thermostat part number 1505640 is confirmed as a direct drop-in replacement for the FAW Besturn X80. The FAW OEM part number is 1306010-37K¹². The Ford alternative is often more readily available and cheaper than waiting for a FAW part shipped from Moscow³⁴⁵.

Opening temperature spec. The FAW X80 thermostat opens fully at 105°C. If the thermostat is stuck closed, the coolant pipes/hose from the thermostat will remain noticeably cold even once the engine reaches normal operating temperature — a useful diagnostic sign⁶⁷.

Replacement procedure and labor cost breakdown. Thermostat replacement typically requires removing the intake manifold. Official FAW dealer cost (RU market, May 2024): 10,501-12,441 RUB, depending on whether fresh coolant is also needed (~900 RUB for 5L). Independent-shop path: thermostat part (~2,000 RUB) + coolant (~900 RUB) + independent labor (4,500 RUB) ≈ 7,400 RUB total (RU market, May 2024). Important: intake-manifold gaskets should be replaced whenever the manifold is removed for this job — many shops skip this, leading to future leaks. Improper reassembly can cause misfires afterward^{8910111213141516}.

Reading the number on the old unit. An owner asking for the thermostat part number reads the marking on the old unit as "130, 60, 10, 30 MK" and wants to confirm it against the part; the answer 1306010-37K was given without a fitment check¹².
