Transmission breather vent

The transmission has a breather/vent (sapun, "дыхательный клапан" in Russian) whose job is to stop water getting into the transmission when driving through water crossings ¹. It sits near the transmission and is marked with a yellow cap ¹. Keep the vent mounted on its valve stem — removing it carelessly can damage it ²³. It matters most off-road / in mud, but owners note it is important even in normal operation any time the car is near standing water ⁴⁵.
