Common rattle and vibration sources

Multiple owners independently report the same set of minor rattle/ vibration sources on the X80, suggesting these are common to the platform rather than individual defects: - Dashboard license-plate/number display panel rattles ¹. - Door window glass has a slight vibration/flutter, especially noticeable at certain speeds/road surfaces ¹². - Hood edge near the hinges rattles ².

These affect perceived ride quality/refinement but are not reported as functional or safety issues — mostly a nuisance-noise/NVH characteristic of the platform.

Trunk lid squeaking/rattling from guide rails: a more detailed and fixable rattle source — squeaking/rattling from the trunk's bottom edges when opening/closing or applying pressure to the lid. Cause: the metal guide rails (which run inside rubber channels) becoming noisy, or loose hardware. Fixes, in order of effort: (1) lubricate with silicone spray — temporary relief only; (2) wedge cloth/padding into the gaps between the guide rods and the rubber seals — a more lasting fix; (3) for persistent noise, disassemble the guides to inspect for wear or loose fasteners ^345678910.
