Door panel interior-light pocket

Tags: #door-panel · #diy · #low-confidence · #aliexpress

FAW X80 door panels have a pre-molded window/pocket on the trim intended for interior-light illumination, but the factory does not install any wiring or lamp there — it's a design placeholder for an optional feature that was never wired up on production cars ¹²³.

DIY retrofit: some owners have added their own lighting to this pocket, sourcing power from the existing door-control-button illumination circuit. No detailed step-by-step was shared (one owner who did this had no photos to share), but it confirms the pocket is wireable via the door-button illumination feed rather than needing an entirely new power run ⁴.

FAW-logo light insert available on AliExpress: a dedicated FAW logo illumination insert is sold on AliExpress specifically to fill this transparent placeholder window in the lower front-door trim. Community members report already having installed it in the group, but the exact mounting/wiring specifics for this particular product weren't detailed in this batch of messages (low confidence pending a step-by-step) ⁵⁶.
