Glovebox microlifter replacement

The glovebox microlifter/damper strut (опора/микролифт — the small mechanism that stops the glovebox door from dropping open too fast, see also the cabin air filter replacement card for related glovebox-damper caution) is simple to replace: (1) remove the glovebox; (2) unscrew the 6 self-tapping screws securing the old strut; (3) install the new strut in the same 6 positions. The whole procedure takes approximately 2 minutes, and no special tools are required ¹².

No factory interior lighting in the glovebox: the large glove compartment does not include factory lighting in base/standard-trim FAW X80 configurations. This appears to be an intentional design choice rather than an equipment variation between trim levels. Separately, the spring mechanism that holds the lid closed can wear over time and fail to hold it shut ³⁴⁵⁶.
