Stuck rear seat belt — child-seat lock mode

A rear seat belt that will not retract may simply be in child-seat lock mode, which engages when the belt is pulled all the way out. To clear it, push the belt fully back in and then pull it out again. If it will not move in either direction, the retractor has to be taken apart.¹²
