Sunroof drive mechanism — part number and pricing

Sunroof drive mechanism (full guide-rope-and-frame assembly) part number: 5CA069830. Needed when the drive cable and plastic guide wear out or suffer freeze-damage. Pre-facelift and facelift models appear compatible (same part). Official dealer pricing is ~80,000 RUB+ (RU market, October 2024) with a long wait; secondary-market options (from Russian auto-breakers/salvage yards) are available for ~30,000 RUB (RU market, October 2024) ^12345678910.

Single-side panoramic sunroof failure: one owner reported one side of the panoramic/electric sunroof failing to open while the other side continued operating normally; it was replaced under warranty. Possible causes discussed by the community: single-motor failure, hinge jam, or an electrical-connector issue affecting only one side (unconfirmed — low-confidence report) ^{111213141516171819}.

Remote-control operation via key fob (windows + sunroof together): the panoramic sunroof and side windows can be operated together via the key fob's remote buttons: (1) press-and-hold the open button opens both side windows and the sunroof simultaneously; (2) press-and-hold the close button closes both side windows and the sunroof simultaneously. This is one-touch/automatic — no second press is needed to complete the motion. Windows can still be operated independently via the in-cabin button controls as usual ^20212223.

Sunroof/skylight glass — part number and price: the sunroof/skylight glass part number for the X80 NEW is 5CA169810, priced at 22,040 RUB (RU market, September 2025). The rubber gasket is model-specific and cannot be sourced from other vehicles. Available at kitzapchasti.ru ²⁴²⁵²⁶.

Sunroof glass availability and drain tubes: broken glass-roof elements can be sourced from salvage yards when unavailable new. Drainage tubes exist for the glass roof system and can be cleaned or replaced as needed; specific part numbers and supplier information are available through community resources ²⁷²⁸.

Sunroof/panoramic-roof glass — confirmed pricing (20,000 RUB) and salvage/custom alternatives: further confirming the glass part number above (5CA169810), a second pricing report puts the new OEM glass at 20,000 RUB (RU market, May 2024). Cheaper alternatives: (1) salvage yards for used units; (2) custom glass-fabrication shops that can make a replacement from triplex glass if the standard mounts are compatible — rates vary by complexity. As a rough size reference, the X80 roof glass is close to but not identical to an Infiniti FX35's (X80 measured 86x45cm vs. FX35 87x47cm) ^29303132.

Sunroof drive-gear part — cross-model compatibility: a drive gear for the sunroof-hatch mechanism is available on AliExpress, compatible across multiple FAW models — Besturn B50, B70, X80, B90 — with cross-reference compatibility also reported for Hongqi H7, Bentley, and Mazda 3. Part cost: 519 RUB (RU market, March 2026). Useful for X80 Live Edition models equipped with the panoramic-roof feature ³³³⁴.

Sunroof cap unavailable as a spare part: the X80 ships with a sunroof cap from the factory, but it is not available as a spare part either in China or on Russian aftermarket sites. Sourcing is made harder because the part is sometimes listed under mistranslated names like "проектор салонный" (salon projector) or under Pentium X80 naming variants (a related FAW-family model), making it nearly impossible to find by a direct search ^3536373839.

Sunroof cable/strap misalignment — temporary and permanent fixes: sunroof misalignment where it doesn't fully close and shifts to one side (становится на перекос, не доезжает до конца) can be caused by a cable or strap coming loose from its groove near the sunroof motor. Temporary fix: remove the sunroof motor and gently straighten the cable/strap back into position without full disassembly; if the motor can't be removed, a stopgap is to position the sunroof using hand-applied rigid foam spacers and seal the gaps with tape — this allows extended driving (several months) until a proper repair, with the spacers preventing further shifting. Permanent fix: replace the entire sunroof unit with a donor assembly, costing ~15,000 RUB (RU market, 2023 pricing) when sourced from a salvage/dismantler — note this can recur if the cable slips again ^4041424344.

Auto window/sunroof closing via key-fob hold — confirms and extends the remote-control note above: two independent reports confirm and extend the one-touch remote behavior described above: (1) 30-second hold to toggle the feature itself — holding the fob's close button for ~30 seconds activates auto-close mode (windows and sunroof close automatically after locking); holding the open button for ~30 seconds restores normal mode (windows/sunroof reopen when unlocking). This is a factory feature some owners are unaware of. (2) On keyless-entry (push-button start) variants specifically, simply holding the fob's lock button closes all windows and the sunroof (if equipped) — the reverse (auto-open) is not supported. ⚠️ Conflict: feature availability is unclear on base manual-key trims — at least one base-trim owner could not replicate the behavior, suggesting it may require the keyless-entry hardware ^{45464748495051}.

Sunroof ventilation/drainage holes — location and clearing: the sunroof frame area has visible ventilation/drainage holes that need regular clearing of debris to prevent water backing up, especially after heavy rain or in dusty conditions. They can be partially covered but should not be fully blocked, to maintain proper airflow and drainage ^{52535455565758}.
