Cross-compatible rear discs — GANZ, Mazda 626/MX-5 fitment (2026-09 report). One owner (Radik) fitted a pair of rear brake discs sold for Mazda 626, MX-5, and FAW Besturn X80 (brand GANZ, perforated), bought on Wildberries, reporting the fitment works and the discs "look cool" installed at the rear.1

Sangsin SD4412 — cheaper non-perforated alternative. Another owner (Victor) uses Sangsin brake SD4412 rear discs, which cost about 4,000 RUB less per set (RU market, September 2026) than perforated alternatives like the GANZ discs above. He also runs the same Sangsin brand up front (paired with pads) and reports satisfaction with them.2 A third owner (Archi) pointed out the Sangsin discs are cheaper specifically because they are not perforated, unlike the GANZ ones.3

Perforated vs. non-perforated — community debate on rear discs (2026-09 report). Victor argues perforation matters little at the rear: rear brakes carry a much smaller share of overall braking force than the fronts and don't run hot, so he sees no functional benefit back there. He does value perforation up front, though — on mountain switchback (serpentine) roads, after about an hour of hard driving he can detect a faint whistling from the front brakes, suggesting the fronts do benefit from the extra cooling.4 Archi countered with the usual case for perforated discs: (1) the holes increase airflow through the disc and cool it faster than a solid disc; (2) perforations help vent gas building up between pad and disc; (3) lower disc mass shortens spin-up time and can improve handling; (4) braking distance is claimed to shorten by up to 10%; and (5) the biggest advantage, in his view, is simply the appearance — and if you fit perforated discs up front, he argues you should match them at the rear for looks.5 Victor pushed back skeptically on the "10% shorter braking distance" and weight-savings claims, noting the actual weight difference between a solid and perforated disc is no more than about 800 g — not enough to meaningfully change performance — while agreeing the visual appeal is real, along with painted calipers, even though he admits he rarely even looks at the rear brakes (attention goes to the fronts, checking for grooves).6

Takeaway. Both GANZ (perforated) and Sangsin SD4412 (non-perforated) rear discs are confirmed cross-compatible replacements for the FAW X80 via Mazda 626/MX-5 part matches. The main practical trade-off documented by the community: perforated discs cost more (~4,000 RUB more per set as of 2026-09, RU market) and cool/vent slightly better, which the community agrees matters mainly up front under hard/mountain driving; at the rear the functional benefit is considered marginal, with appearance being the primary reason owners choose perforated discs there too.
