Window deflectors — fitment by model year

Tags: #fitment

Fitment problem. Aftermarket window deflectors sold as "universal" for 2013–2022 model years do not fit correctly on 2019+ X80 models. Reported issues: the deflector overhangs the mirror triangle by 3–5 cm, and leaves a gap at the door junction. Multiple owners hit this same problem, initially suspecting a defective unit before realizing the "universal" sizing itself was the cause ¹²³⁴⁵⁶.

Working alternative. Best results reported with Vital Technologies deflectors (~1,300 RUB, RU market, as of August 2024), specifically for post-2018 models — these fit flush without gaps.

Workaround for existing mismatched deflectors. Reshaping a non-fitting deflector with a heat gun after installation can help improve fit, but a proper year/generation-specific ("lekalo") part is recommended instead — a mechanic warned that the gap issue risks moisture ingress and adhesive lifting over time if not properly addressed ¹²³⁴⁵⁶.
