Engine jerking on light throttle in traffic

Tags: #throttle-body · #fuel-consumption

One owner reported the engine jerking specifically when lightly accelerating ("подгазовках") while already moving in traffic — not when pulling away from a standstill, where the car "flies" normally¹². The symptom is temperature-related: it worsens as the engine heats up¹.

Diagnostic steps already tried with no improvement: cleaning the throttle body, cleaning the MAF sensor, replacing spark plugs, and inspecting the fuel pressure sensor. No OBD error codes were present. Fuel consumption is high (12.4 L/100km in city driving)¹³².

Community is divided on the root cause. The driver suspects an engine mount or a transmission problem, or possibly internal engine damage, and notes a compression test or scope diagnosis may be needed to narrow it down. A more experienced community member (Oleg K) suggested the cause may instead be a contaminated absolute-pressure sensor (ДАД/DAD/MAP) — recommending removal and cleaning by flushing, and noting the throttle body should be cleaned first since oil/carbon deposits from it blow onto the DAD sensor downstream; he reported this order of cleaning improved his own symptoms⁴. Other community notes floated detonation or spark-plug timing as possible contributors. As of the last report, the driver had already cleaned the throttle body and MAF sensor with no change besides fuel consumption, so the DAD-sensor theory remained untested/unresolved for this specific case¹⁴³². Separately, one owner mentioned keeping a spare part of this kind on hand, bought cheaply on Ozon⁵.
