Engine vibration diagnosis — most common cause is the left front mount. In used X80s (especially the 2018 model at higher mileage), the most common cause of engine vibration is a worn left front engine mount (опора)¹. The right mount or the rubber damper ("рыбка") is a secondary suspect²³. Other contributors to check: spark plugs, ignition coils and their connectors ("фишки"), a dirty throttle body, and dirty fuel injectors⁴⁵. Recommended diagnosis order: start by inspecting the left mount before moving to other components¹.

Worn right mount causes a jerk on gear shifts. A worn right engine mount can cause noticeable vibration plus a mechanical jerk/shock when shifting gears, on both manual and automatic transmissions. Owners report a clutch-engagement shock on the 1st-to-2nd shift (manual) and generally jerky shifts (automatic)⁶⁷. Replacing the right mount (Torque AS1111, or the Patron equivalent as an alternative part) noticeably reduced — but for some owners did not completely eliminate — the vibration, suggesting the remaining mounts may also need replacement^{891011121314151617}. Temporary relief: vibration is reduced at higher RPM, and is worse in cold weather⁶⁷. A worn mount photographed by one owner showed visibly compressed/sagged rubber with the bracket sagging downward¹⁸.

Knocking sound when holding the brake in Drive — also an engine-mount symptom. A knocking/tapping sound that occurs only under hard braking while in Drive (and disappears once the brake is released) typically indicates worn or loose engine mounts: under braking load the engine shifts forward on degraded mounts and can contact adjacent components or heat shields¹⁹²⁰. Heat can worsen the symptom through thermal expansion²¹²². Fix: inspect the mounts for wear, tighten mounting hardware, or replace as needed; some owners also suspect transmission-side involvement, so check heat shields and mount bushings first before assuming the transmission itself is at fault²³²⁴.

Idle vibration and body shake. A worn engine mount (подушка двигателя) shows up as body vibration at idle that can be felt through the steering wheel, and as buzzing of the closed side windows²⁵²⁶. Quick test: start the engine and rev it sharply; if the engine rocks hard toward the bulkhead, the mount is worn²⁷. One owner's right-hand mount went first at about 80,000 km and he replaced all of them²⁸. Owners disagree on which mount fails first: Victor says these symptoms point to the lower mount²⁹, while Arсhi 77 says the upper support more often causes body vibration²⁶.
