Control arm (bearing/full arm) replacement

Tags: #price · #control-arm

A service shop quoted 16,000 RUB (RU market, October 2025) for lower control-arm bearing replacement labor. The owner reporting this noted that service shops tend to price X80 work relatively high because of general unfamiliarity with the model — worth getting a second quote before accepting a similar price elsewhere.¹

Full front upper control arm replacement — wider price range (2026-08 report). One owner reported paying 5,000 RUB (RU market, August 2026) for labor to replace the full front upper control arm (рычаг) at a large service center, noting he could have had the same job done by "his own" (a trusted private mechanic) for ~1,500 RUB, but chose the large shop to avoid a week-long wait for an appointment.² A second owner reacted that 5,000 RUB was excessive for a part held on by just two bolts and one nut plus a wheel removal, saying he does all his own repairs to avoid being overcharged.³ This is a separate, lower price point than the 16,000 RUB bearing-only quote above — presented alongside it rather than reconciled, since the two shops may not have quoted the same scope of work. The same discussion also mentioned that some large service centers have quoted 100,000+ RUB (RU market, August 2026) for a full suspension rebuild when only the arm replacement (~5,000 RUB) was actually needed — reinforcing the general advice to get a second, independent quote before authorizing suspension work (see also service-center-selection-and-transparency).²³
