Front suspension lift spacers (30mm kit)

30mm front strut spacer kit — Ozon, restyle-fit, requires drilling (Oct 2025): a 30mm front suspension spacer kit (polyurethane, specifically listed for the FAW Besturn X80 restyle/facelift 2018-2022, sold to increase ground clearance) is available on Ozon 12. Important caveat: the spacer's mounting bolts are a larger diameter than the factory bolts, so installation requires drilling out the bolt holes in both the strut top mount and the spring/suspension cup to fit the larger bolts — it is not a bolt-in swap with factory hardware 23.
Drilling procedure for the 30mm spacer: (1) drill out the mounting holes in the strut top mount (tower); (2) drill out the mounting holes in the suspension cup/turret; (3) install the larger-diameter bolts supplied with the spacer kit. This lets the spacer install without forcing an undersized factory bolt into an oversized spacer hole. Installation difficulty is moderate — tool access or a professional shop is recommended rather than attempting it with only basic hand tools 34.
Bump-stop-to-lower-arm clearance after a 2–3cm lift — no alignment impact: after installing 2–3cm front suspension spacers to raise ride height, the gap between the rubber bump stop and the lower control arm should measure about 2–3cm — this gap is what allows normal suspension travel without bottoming out after the lift. Separately, adding spacers of this size is reported to not affect wheel alignment (camber/toe) on its own 56. Some owners additionally use spacers together with stiffer ("tупые"/firm) shocks specifically to prevent bottoming out; a further owner mentions running a full pneumatic (air-spring) setup instead, without giving installation detail; another owner used a slightly larger 3cm spring spacer rather than the more common 2cm size 789.
Height imbalance after new front springs — front sits ~2cm higher than rear: installing new OEM-spec front springs (Suffix brand) can leave the front end sitting roughly 2cm higher than the rear, creating an unbalanced, "lifted-look" stance (as if the whole car were lift-kitted), because the new front springs are stiffer than the worn rear springs still on the car. Fix used successfully: install 20–30mm rubber spacer shims under the rear springs to level the stance — "Clearance Plus" brand 30mm spacers listed for Mazda 6 GH (2007-2013) were confirmed compatible; see also rear suspension spacer shims for the rear-specific spacer details. No negative handling effects were reported at highway speeds up to 140+ km/h with this combination 1011121314151617.
Mazda 6 GG dustboots as an unintended lift — front rises 1–1.5cm: fitting front strut dust-boots (пыльники) from a Mazda 6 GG onto the X80 raises the front end by about 1–1.5cm — an unintended side effect of the parts swap rather than a designed modification, but it does add ground clearance. The reason: X80's front strut has an extra cup/bearing arrangement not present on the older GG strut design (a rotating bearing that barely moves), so the factory dust-boot on the X80 has a thinner base than the GG boot to compensate — swapping in the thicker GG boot effectively acts as a lift spacer. As an alternative to sourcing GG boots specifically, ordinary height spacers achieve the same 1–1.5cm gain 18192021.
Owner-reported height/spacer configuration — front spring thickness vs. rear spacer reality: one configuration reported for reference: front — 455mm total ride height, with 14mm-thick OEM-spec springs on the factory struts; rear — factory soft springs plus spacer plates advertised as +20mm, but the actual measured lift was only +10mm relative to stock (consistent with the spacer over-advertising pattern documented on the rear springs card). Open question in the thread: whether the rear springs had also been swapped, and how a real +40mm spacer stack would perform, was not resolved. Both spring thickness and spacer stack height affect the final ride height and comfort, and there are many aftermarket configurations in use across the community 222324.
Official manual reference height — 435mm, and three measurement methods that don't agree: per the official manual, stock ride height is 435mm measured from wheel center to the top of the wheel arch. In practice, owners measuring the same car with different methods (from above at the fender lip, from below at the rocker/threshold, or by eye at fender height) got noticeably different numbers on the same vehicle in one example (465mm / 445mm / 455mm) — always state which method was used, and don't compare lift results across threads using different methods without normalizing first 2526272829303132.
Rear spacers from Mazda 6 GG (+2cm) — may need trimming, works well as a matched B50 front+rear set: Mazda 6 GG-sourced rear spacers (Ozon: https://ozon.ru/t/HDgTSeb) give roughly +2cm of rear lift, but may need grinding/cutting to fit the X80 properly due to manufacturing differences from the Mazda application. One owner running the same spacer set as a matched front+rear pair on a FAW B50 (the X80's platform mate) reports it worked well as a complete kit 3334353637.
40mm polyurethane spacers, front+rear — 50,000 km update, no increased wear: a fuller account of the 40mm-polyurethane-spacer lift already referenced elsewhere on this card: installing 40mm spacers on both front strut tops and rear springs improves off-road clearance, reduces vibration transmission, and improves ride comfort. Installation notes: loosen all suspension mounting bolts before fitting the spacers, then re-torque everything with the car resting on its wheels (loaded); re-check/re-torque the suspension bushings again shortly after to prevent premature wear. After 50,000 km on this setup: ride is stiffer than stock but with no increased component wear reported, and off-road capability is described as excellent 3839404142434445.
40mm spacer product links (Ozon): the specific 40mm polyurethane spacer kits referenced above — front strut-top spacers: https://ozon.ru/t/QolXB0w; rear spring spacers (2-piece set, AutoDVC brand): https://ozon.ru/t/GKJk4JV. Using the same 40mm size front and rear is recommended to keep the lift proportional 4344.
Front spring + spacer combo — Japanese donor springs (JD Co, 930-0835) with +20mm spacers: one owner sourced non-OEM Japanese front springs — manufacturer JD Co., LTD, model 930-0835, from Kamifugo 1-8-43, Toyama City, Japan — and combined them with a +20mm spacer setup. He reports this combination avoids the sagging seen with unmodified new (non-donor) springs. At the time of the report he was searching for a matching used spring from the same manufacturer to replace the other side symmetrically, implying the donor springs were sourced/replaced one side at a time rather than as a matched pair 46.
Front height with Suffix front springs — 47cm, vs. a rear-only aftermarket-spring settling curve (Aug 2026): with Suffix-brand front springs installed on the factory dampers, one owner measured front ride height at 47cm. Discussing the resulting front/rear imbalance, another owner reported his own (non-stock/aftermarket) rear springs measured 47cm right after installation, but settled to 43cm once loaded — noting that with the factory rear setup the car would instead bottom straight onto the bump stop under the same load. A follow-up measurement after 3,800km of driving with a full load and full fuel tank found the rear had settled further, from the as-installed 47cm down to 44cm. Separately in the same discussion, dust-boot type was raised as a contributing variable: a one-piece (non-factory, GG-style) damper dust boot can add about +1cm versus the stock two-piece boot, and a fresh spacer/spring install is expected to settle further over the first 2-3 weeks — see the rear springs card for the rear-specific spring and spacer options behind these height figures 4748495051.
