Lower arm — Mazda 6 GG platform cross-fit

Prices and suppliers on this page are Russian-market (RUB, at the dates shown). Verify locally before relying on them in Syria.

Platform origin: the X80's suspension and chassis components are derived from the Mazda 6 (GG generation, 2003-2007), including struts, hubs, and control arms — which is the underlying reason so many Mazda 6 GG parts cross-fit throughout this card. The later Mazda 6 restyle (2008-2010) was never imported to Russia. The intake manifold and brake calipers are factory-modified for the X80 relative to the Mazda donor design 1.

B50 platform note: the FAW B50 shares the same suspension architecture as the X80, but silentblock (bushing) dimensions on the stock B50 control arms differ from the Mazda 6 GG equivalents despite an overall similar fit. One owner replaced a B50-style lower arm assembly outright rather than dealing with this complexity, even though the ball joint itself was still serviceable; silentblocks can be replaced separately (~1,000 RUB, RU market, May 2025) as a cheaper alternative to a full arm swap. Lesson: when sourcing cross-platform (Mazda-based) parts, always verify bushing dimensions even when overall fitment looks compatible 2.

Mazda 6 GG cross-fit (early confirmation): sway bar links, sway-bar bushings, and rear longitudinal-suspension-arm bushings from the Mazda 6 GG generation are reportedly direct-fit replacements on the X80 — search terms "chinaspare", "kitparts" for sourcing them; see also the stabilizer bar bushings card for the sway-bar side of this same report 3.

Mazda 6 GG suspension swap — comprehensive long-term case (262,000 km): reinforcing and extending the platform-origin note above — Mazda 6 GG (2002-2007) or first-generation Atenza (2002-2007) with the 2.0L engine is fully suspension-compatible with the X80, with the specific exception of the front hubs and brake calipers (the steering knuckle, control arms, brake discs, and brake calipers in this swap are all Mazda-sourced). Context: the X80 is roughly 200-250kg heavier than a Mazda 6, so component durability/stiffness expectations should account for that weight difference. One owner (Oleg) reports 262,000 km on a full Mazda suspension swap combined with pneumatic suspension add-ons, while still running the original X80 springs. Total swap cost was approximately 4,500 RUB (RU market, June 2025) for the suspension components plus 1,600 RUB for the pneumatic suspension add-ons 4.

Rear adjustment (control) lever — Mazda 6 fitment, support-bearing caveat (disputed): whether the Mazda 6 rear adjustment lever fits the X80 got a quick "yes, from 6GG" 56, but a follow-up question about whether the X80's own strut support bearings (опорные подшипники) would still work if Mazda forks and struts are fitted got only a tentative "probably yes" 78 — a separate community member recalls seeing elsewhere that the support bearings do differ from Mazda's, though this was not confirmed ("not 100% sure") 9. Conflict: treat support-bearing compatibility in a Mazda strut/fork swap as unverified until confirmed by a direct fitment check.

Mazda 6 GG control arms — fitment confirmed, durability highly variable (March 2026): reinforcing the Mazda 6 GG cross-fit already established on this card, both front and rear control arms from the Mazda 6 GG fit the X80 (a wheel alignment is required after installation, as with any control-arm swap). Durability, however, is reported as highly variable: cheap aftermarket GG-sourced arms failed at only 30,000 km for one owner, while genuine OEM lower arms on another vehicle lasted 187,000 km. Upper ball-joint seals are reported as a particular weak point. One owner needed a complete rear-suspension replacement after installed (non-OEM) arms failed at just 30,000 km 1011121314.
