Some advice here concerns sub-zero winters and is less relevant in a hot climate.

Official factory specification. Wheel alignment angles are documented in the factory manual (and the owner's manual), and some Russian aftermarket sources have also published alignment specs for the X80 123. The full table, unloaded, from the factory manual — front: camber −20′ ± 30′ (slight negative), caster 5.93° ± 1°, steering-axis inclination 6.53°, toe-in 0 ± 2mm, steering-wheel lock angles (inner 36.5° ± 3°, outer 30° ± 3°), vehicle height 435 ± 20mm; rear: camber −1°20′ ± 30′ (slight negative), toe-in 2 ± 2mm, vehicle height 462 ± 20mm. Height reference conditions noted in the manual: 12-liter fuel level, coolant at normal level 45. The same table was independently re-shared and re-confirmed in two further community threads, with no discrepancies from these figures 6789101112. Owners who had the alignment performed to X80-specific figures confirm the car handles correctly afterward 1314151617.

Early community reference (May 2024) — platform basis and fallback. An early card-founding thread established that the X80 is primarily based on the Mazda 6 (2002–2008 generation), though its automatic transmission (AKPP) is unique to FAW (modeled on Aisin principles); parts cross-reference across Mazda 6, Mazda CX-5, Ford, Volvo, and the FAW B50. Practical advice given at the time: ask the alignment shop whether they already have the X80 in their equipment software; if not, use Mazda 6 GG (not CX-5) parameters from the manual as the fallback reference. The same thread captured an early transcription of the factory figures: front wheel toe-in −20′ ± 30′, longitudinal (caster) inclination 5.93° ± 1°, rear wheel toe-in −1°20′ ± 30′, toe adjustment range 0 ± 2mm — consistent with the full table above, though with slightly different field labels 1819202122.

What can be adjusted: front versus rear. On the front suspension only toe-in (схождение) is adjustable — there are no camber adjustment bolts on the front wheels. On the rear suspension both camber (развал) and toe-in are adjustable. This asymmetry is a normal part of the X80's design, not a defect; keep it in mind after any suspension work (tie-rod replacement, ball-joint service) that requires resetting alignment 23. In October 2025 a professional alignment specialist confirmed again that no camber adjustment point exists at the front on this model; only toe/convergence can be adjusted there. Proper reassembly of suspension links and the integrity of the bushings (silentblocks) are critical for keeping the alignment: any looseness there causes misalignment that toe adjustment alone cannot fix 242526272829. Two cambering bolts (болт развальный) are used for suspension-geometry adjustment; at around 100,000 km service, a technician may recommend an aftermarket alternative to the OEM bolt rather than the original 30.

Shops refusing the service. Multiple service stations have refused to perform wheel alignment on the X80, claiming the car is not in their equipment's database; one owner was turned away by 3+ shops. This is a common complaint but not universal — it depends on the technician's willingness and how recently their alignment machine's database was updated. Workarounds reported: (1) use Mazda CX-5 alignment parameters as a substitute (risky — see below); (2) manually enter the X80 specs from the manual and calibrate by hand; (3) find a shop with a recently updated database that includes Chinese-market vehicles 313233. If a shop still claims it has no X80 specs, try the group's media uploads or consult the manual directly rather than substituting another vehicle's parameters 123. Availability has improved: in an April 2025 report, most alignment shops now carry the FAW X80's calibration parameters in their equipment, so owners can get alignment done at regular auto service centers, not just dealerships, with no special tooling or dealer visit required 3435. By January 2026 many shops had the X80 in their database; some had previously used Mazda 6 figures as a stand-in before X80-specific data was available 1314151617.

Why Mazda CX-5 parameters must not be substituted. One owner had the alignment done using Mazda CX-5 parameters in July before a long highway trip (Moscow–Voronezh) and found severe front inner-tire wear afterward — the front tire worn down to the cord/bald on the inner edge, especially on the left side, with the rear tires also excessively worn. Based on this, the owner recommends Mazda 6 GG parameters instead as a better match, though the exact parameter differences were not detailed in the thread 36. A second documented case reports inner tire wear appearing within roughly 400 km of driving on CX-5-sourced values before the discrepancy was caught; some shops may not know the CX-5 parameters are unsuitable for the X80, so if a shop's computer has no X80 entry, use the manual-input option with the official X80 figures above rather than accepting a CX-5 profile 37. The factory table is the community's authoritative reference on this point: the CX-5 has longer suspension arms and a different wheel offset (50mm vs the X80's 45mm), so CX-5 camber values cause accelerated inner-tire wear on an X80 45. Community consensus is to follow the owner's manual specifications rather than cross-platform parameters where possible 383940.

Problems after an alignment service. Steering wheel not returning after turns plus rapid tire wear: after a wheel alignment service, the steering wheel fails to return to center when turning (especially in one direction), and this correlates with unusually fast tire wear. Root causes: a bent lower control arm, or toe-in settings applied incorrectly by the shop. The fix requires physical inspection and a competent realignment using X80-specific parameters, not Mazda specs (see the lower control arm card for the bent-arm diagnosis/replacement procedure that resolved this in one case) 41424344. Vehicle pulling right (Dec 2025): a report of the car pulling right, especially noticeable on rutted or uneven roads and worse on winter tires, with the alignment done the previous autumn. Other owners confirmed the suspension is generally sensitive to road imperfections and that the hydraulic power steering is sensitive by design. Likely contributors discussed: alignment drift since the last service, worn suspension components, or road camber — but one mechanic's explanation is presented as a separate, non-fault possibility: on right-hand-drive-derived FWD layouts the inner driveshaft can be longer on one side, producing a slight pull under hard acceleration that is considered normal rather than a defect 4546.

Pricing. Moscow, October 2024: the FAW official dealership (Autogermés) charged 3,600–4,500 RUB (RU market, October 2024), with one owner noting 3,600 RUB was already a "discounted" price since the list price was 4,500 RUB; independent shops charged as little as 1,500 RUB. Some official-dealer shops are known to bundle unnecessary additional services into the alignment visit 383940. Other Moscow-area reports show the same spread by shop type: ~800 RUB at a budget garage (January 2023) and ~1,200 RUB (2024) 47, against ~4,000 RUB at the dealership-affiliated Autopilot chain in Odintsovo (RU market, October 2024) 48. Budget, non-dealership garages around Moscow are significantly cheaper than official dealership-affiliated service chains for this job 4748.
